Link safety and reporting
People trust a short link before they see where it goes. We check destinations so that trust is not abused.
Why you may see a warning or a block
URLCrop scans the destination of every link. A low-risk link redirects straight away. A link we are unsure about shows a warning page first, and you choose whether to continue. A link that is clearly harmful is blocked. New or unknown destinations get extra care until we have seen them behave.
What is not allowed
Adult and sexual content
Pornography, escort services and any sexual content shared without consent.
Gambling
Online betting, casinos and unlicensed lotteries.
Phishing and scams
Pages that imitate another site to take passwords, payments or personal details, and fraud of any kind.
Malware and hacking
Malicious downloads, exploit kits, cracking tools and stolen account lists.
Harassment and blackmail
Threats, doxxing, stalking and extortion, including sextortion.
The full rules are in the Acceptable Use Policy.
How to report a link
Use the report form. You can also open it from the warning or block page of any short link. You do not need an account, and an email address is optional. We review reports within 24 to 72 hours, and sooner for the most serious kinds.
If your link was blocked
If you own a link we warned about or blocked and you think we got it wrong, write to support@urlcrop.com with the link and what it points to. A person reviews every appeal.
